logo-1Hand painted porcelains from Buran Benjarong are based on traditional Thai style paintings. Religious Buddhist beliefs and traditions have been deeply rooted in everyday life. The Buran Benjarong handmade porcelains use intricate designs on gorgeous porcelain bowls vases, etc. The production of the basic porcelain wares are by itself a very tedious and time consuming process. The hand painting done on these porcelain wares is a really slow process.

and requires a methodical procedure, this precious object is shaped from kaolin, feldspar, quartz and bone ashes….

Dust in the wind : Kansas

I close my eyes,

Only for a moment and the moment’s gone.

All my dreams,

Pass before my eyes a curiosity.

Dust in the wind,

All they are is dust in the wind.

Same old song,

Just a drop of water in an endless sea.

All we do,

Crumble to the ground though we refuse to see,

Dust in the wind,

All we are is dust in the wind.

Don’t hang on,

Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.

It slips away,

All your money won’t another minute buy.

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind.

osggThere are hundreds of gift guides this holiday season filled with junk you can buy, but a lot of times you actually don’t own it, you can’t improve upon it, you can’t share it or make it better, and you certainly can’t post the plans, schematics, and source code either. We want to change that. We’ve put together our picks of interesting open source hardware projects, open source software, services, and things that have the maker spirit of open source. Some are kits, some are open software projects that you’ll need to build hardware for before gifting, and some are just support for the projects/groups that do open source. Included in this guide are things you can get from the MAKE store too (we try and have as many open source goods as possible).

And we’re not done. Post in the comments on what you think should be in the Open Source Gift Guide and we’ll add it! Just stick to the same format we did, name, link, and a couple of sentences. We need your help, so send in other great OS gifts. If you’re spending money this season, support open source, and give a gift that gives back!

“You can do anything you want as long as you put your mind to it.”

MacGyver was the greatest TV show ever made. MacGyver was a thinking man’s hero, one who outwitted his opponents with his mind instead of with guns or burly biceps. Over the years, MacGyswissarmyknife-2ver had a staple of regulars pop up every once in awhile in his life. From the dastardly Murdoc to the inept Penny Parker, these semi-regular characters rounded out the show and tied it all together from season to season. Many popular Hollywood stars, from Cuba Gooding, Jr. to Teri Hatcher, had significant roles in MacGyver episodes!

His friendship with his boss, Pete Thornton (Dana Elcar) was especially worth seeing develop throughout the seven seasons the show aired.
